Though she wasn't on shift, the call of the engineering deck was difficult to ignore. There wasn't really anywhere else she could tinker with machines.
Well, machines that were supposed to be thinkered with anyway.
She walked passed busy crewmen on duty, and various others who seemed to be just milling around. One in particular was lounging on a couch that really had no reason to be in the engineering deck. That guy looked awfully familiar...
Wait, that was the Cheif of Engineering. He also appeared to have a drink in his hand. It took a moment for her brain to reboot.
Okay, he really wasn't helping here. It was bad enough that the chain of command was so informal, but now there was what appeared to be a still in the middle of Engineering. This was like the Accademy all over again.
Her brain still wasn't working too well, but she had enough function to tilt her head slightly and ask "Mr. Scott...?"
