Day Fourteen, Bridge

Sep 29, 2009 16:45

It had been at least twenty four hours now since the security breach, and the spores that had doused the officers of the Enterprise. Turned out the god damned things were airbourne -- anyone affected who exhaled had a chance of infecting those around him or her. The medical bay was a mess. Kirk had spent as much time as he could there, attempting ( Read more... )

The bastard was still on the bridge.

Considering the insanity going on, she didn't blame him, but still. The man needed to take care of himself.

When she reached the bridge though, every nasty sentence went out the window.

He'd fallen asleep on the chair.

Rand walked over to captains chair and lightly poked him in the shoulder.

"Captain?"

He woke with a start, head up, palms grasping on the sides of his chair, head whirling around to see what the emergency was now, who else had gotten infected, if someone was trying to pick him up again. Granted, when he had started this mission, the idea of a planet that had a massive orgy every year was kinda nice. This, however, with his ship declining into chaos was not his idea of a good time. Blue eyes glanced up to meet Yeoman Rand standing over him, prodding him in the shoulder.

"I'm awake." He murmured, sinking back down in the chair. "What do you need?"

She snorted at him. "It's not what I need, it's what you need. You look like something the cat dragged in, sat on, and then puked up."

She knelt down a little to be on the same level as him. "And, you need something to eat, I'm sure."

She pulled out an apple from her ever present messenger bag and waved it in front of his face. She was pretty sure that bag it wasn't regulation, but, on this ship, she doubted anyone was going to care.

"I'm pretty sure, somewhere in there, that was totally a derogative remark in response to your commanding officer." Kirk muttered and straightened, watching as she leaned down to look at him, obviously not caring. God, they gave him the best yeoman ever. The apple was red and shiny, just like he liked them, and Kirk relaxed again, boneless, his stomach growling and reminding him that he hadn't eaten in those twenty-four hours, either.

He took the apple begrudgingly and took a bite. It wasn't even replicated. "Cut me some slack. There's an epidemic aboard the ship."
