Introducing: one human. Beware of irritability and sarcasm. Also of the dog.

It's been several weeks since Hawke crawled out of a bio-pod to find herself somewhere unimaginable. She thought she knew unimaginable; she was very wrong. A few weeks of being constantly overwhelmed by sights, sounds, and concepts that she's still struggling to comprehend have made that clear. She suspects that's going to go on for a while ( Read more... )

Now this was most unexpected. The last sight he thought to saw on this barely-held together bin of metal scraps was a mabari pawing at a door and whining. He was a large fellow, as the breed often was, and looked very upset to be locked out of whatever was beyond the blocked threshold. Having had some experience with the creatures, Zevran made his approach noticeable and called out to the sad looking pet.

"Hello my friend! What are you doing in this place, hmm? Are you lost and in need of a helping hand? Or are you just hungry? I do not believe that is the way to the kitchens."

[Teo abandons the door to pay attention to this new interesting thing. Familiar smell, elf, haven't seen one of those since we came to strange place, familiar is good. Very familiar, we've met this one before, oh yes! He helped us, we helped him, we fought together and were victorious, it was good.

Teo barks and wags his tail ecstatically. He wouldn't normally be this happy, but it's been a long few weeks of running around on metal instead of dirt or grass or stone or something he understands, and Master might be happy to see This One, so he deigns to step forward and bat his head against Zevran's free hand, clearly demanding a pet]

Zevran knows a command when he gets one. Chuckling softly, and assured that the mabari did not (yet) see him as a threat, the elf did as requested and began petting the large dog's head. Paying special attention to scratching the hound behind it's ears. He knelt down to get a better look at the dog, see if he could recognize it as most mabari did not so happily greet those they were unfamiliar with (unless it was a child and they were in the mood to play, really ( ... )

[Ooh, this person knows about ears! That's good. And knows to treat him with respect. That's better. People here either ignore him or assume he can talk. Very strange. Everything here is strange. Why can't Master take them back? Ooh, ear-scritching! And yes, we're very smart, enemies run in fear when they see us coming, but so long as you keep doing that you don't have to worry.]

Bark!

Ai notices the woman looking around for something on a post-work walk around the station. She decided to walk over, maybe introduce herself.

"Hello! Are you lost?"

Hawke smiles ruefully. "I'm not lost, but my dog is. He's always running off, and usually in trouble when I find him. You haven't seen a large dog around here by any chance, have you?"

Ai shook her head. "No, I haven't. But I'll help you look for him. Does he have a name?"

"He won't answer to you if you call it, I'm afraid, but it's Teo." She scratches her head. "Are there any nooks or crannies around here, or things that he could jump on? Wherever there's the most possibility for trouble is probably where he'll be. I haven't been here long, so I don't really know my way around yet. Normally I'm better at predicting where he gets to." She looks over and smiles. "Sorry, babbling. I'm Hawke. And you are?"

Sheeana is glad to see the presence of a large, menacing looking dog on board. Animals speak to that wild place within her. She and they usually have an understanding.

She kneels to put herself on its level and extends a hand, palm up, fingers curled in.

"Hello there. How did you get up here?"

[Teo actually isn't sure how he got up here, 'here' being a platform raised above a courtyard. He's pretty sure there were stairs involved, but where'd they go?

This person seems to know how to treat mabari, however, and is treating him with respect, so he continues to look at her and offers a tentative bark and tag wail rather than biting, as he sometimes would.]

That settles it then. He's a dog, not a wolf. Wolfs don't bark. Still, under that domesticated veneer, this creature is clearly not far from the wild. And with that comes certain needs.

"Can you understand me? You can't stay here. There's nothing for you to hunt. Come. I'll show you where you can find prey."

She stands and beckons.

[Prey? Actual prey? Something he's allowed to hunt? That is something Teo wants to know about. He shouldn't go without Master, though, they go together. He'll have to find her first, and then they can hunt, which is how it should be.

He barks again and wags his tail to show approval of this plan, then goes looking for his own scent, hoping it will take him back to wherever Master is; This Person should know her]

Hawke might have seen Tess once or twice during her introduction. The strange garb stands out, even compared to the hippies: a tight-fitted suit, with a visual quality a little like armor but completely free of seams or gaps. And such a pretty, gentle face: with the faceplate of the helm split and retracted somehow, that pleasant smile is an omnipresent feature.

Another thing that's obvious, when she gets encountered in a corridor, is that she certainly doesn't have a dog with her, though she gives Hawke a helpful, happy look.

Ah, that hair is familiar...Hawke's sure she's seen it before. And the body that goes with it. Isabela would have had a number of happy things to say about that, with innuendoes galore...

Hawke shakes off the thought and returns the girl's smile. "You haven't seen a dog run by here, have you?"

Tess isn't the sort to get easily bothered by innuendo, despite her innocent demeanor. (But, then, who could really stay all that innocent while wearing something like that?)

"Naw," she says, shaking her head a little. (There's something a little exaggerated about the motion, somehow...) "Should I'uve?" The accent is interesting... probably especially so, depending on how much anything from her world matches up with the stereotypical Southern Appalachian tone.

((Though, actually, her hair isn't visible in the suit. <.<))

"Probably not." Hawke sighs. "Must've taken the other corridor...sorry to bother you." The accent is a bit familiar, but she can't quite place it...Gwaren, maybe? Something Ferelden rather than Free Marches, though still not quite. Ah well. Not many things here are really analagous, though it helps her to find analogies for now. "If you see him, can you let me know, if you get a chance? Name's Hawke. I'll be around."

((Drat. Wondered, looking at the description/your userpics, and finally decided to risk it. Ah well!}}
