Hey!
My friend enlightened_77 is holding some Wiccan celebration/ritual nights at her house upcoming- I asked if I could come too even though I don't consider myself Wiccan... I am open minded and appreciate everyone's beliefs though, whether or not I would personally think about them or follow them myself.

So I kind of think it is just fear that makes people freak out and say 'oh! wearing a pentacle is wrong! You bite the heads off of live chickens, don't you??' Fear and misunderstanding are dangerous things, I think.

I think it's great that you're going along to your friend's celebration. It's always good to see what other people do, and it might give you some ideas that you incorporate into your own practices. I get some of my best ritual incense receipe bases from my Catholic friends :)

I agree that fear and misunderstanding are probably the most dangerous things. It's the lack of understanding and the taking as truth the information passed to you by someone else without doing any of the leg work to find out for yourself what's ACTUALLY going on that propigates stupid sterotypes and fears. Of course, some people are completely fine with simply taking what others give them as the be all and end all of the information.

I myself am the reason the priests drew straws to come to speak to my class :) Short straw ended up answering my questions.

BTW!!!! I got my print of Diana. It's beautious!

If you can't find it at that point, let me know. I haven't hung mine up yet. I think I can get a friend with a large-bed scanner to scan it in and print it out if need be :)
