I usually write my introduction LAST.
My thesis FIRST.
Write an outline the day before (or day of, depending on how long the paper is) of the main points I want to hit, regarding my thesis so as to stick to it and not veer away too far with convoluted ideas, write them out in horrible grammar and "yah kid man" (no seriously I do) and other equally awesome phrases as such in my rough draft. Then, when it's done, I go back and make it sound smart after taking a long break from writing.
Then I have someone else look at it to make sure it makes sense and there are no glaring errors in spelling/whatever in it as well. I usually pick an English/Education major to proofread. They are the best.

My papers are generally between 12 and 15 pages, so i generally break it out into three page sections (unless the content would be significantly broken up by this pace, in which case the structure of the content determines 'breaks.' During these breaks, I allow myself two guitar hero songs.
In this way, it never takes me more then 6-8 hours to write a solid 15 page paper including about an hour worth of guitar hero, and my lowest grade on a paper in college was an 88.
