Ouch! Sorry about your luck. White fillings might have went up. I haven't had fillings since I was a kid but I kinda slacked off going to the dentist and recently had 8 fillings. I chose the white so they wouldn't be noticable and they came in at $120 instead of I think $85 for silver. At the time I wasn't on Josh's health insurance and mine didn't cover dental. It sucks on how much they charge for things that are virtually inexpensive.
I know! It's such crap! I think I had my last white filling done...eh, I don't know, 2 years ago? I just can't beleive it's that expensive. I'm paying for it because the fillings to be repaired are white already, and lets face it, it looks a lot better.
Everything breaks at once...that much I know, I just wish it wasn't at Christmas!
wow. that like REALLY sucks. that sucks more than my life has been sucking lately. and that's really saying something.
so thanks. i guess you kind of put my suckiness in perspective. however, i need to make dentist and eye dr appts (along with pcp -- one of which i do not already have), and i have to make all mine without ANY insurance. and mom and dad are apparently done helping me out. so. when that time comes, we'll have a suckiness match again. i guarantee i'll win. :)
but for now, i hope things get better. why not come to butler on a saturday and get both appointments done? or on a monday or friday. sure, it's a hassle and it costs work time, but at least you know you'd be getting things done correctly and cheaper.
Unfortunately, if I have my eye and dentist appointments done in Butler, my County of York healthcare won't cover it---I'm only covered in this County (as far as I know...I think medical I can go outside of York, but only to neighboring counties
( ... )
No one will cover me because I have preexisting conditions. We've tried every company you've heard of, plus some that you probably haven't. One company agreed to insure me for over $500/month with sucky co-pays. it just wasn't worth that much. apparently heart problems are a "serious" preexisting condition. i'm risky. risky business.
Sorry to hear things aren't going so well! Maybe you should look for a gyno, etc in another county. I have no idea if Dauphin is better but Harrisburg is bigger than York and close to the Hershey Medical Center so you should be able to get some good doctors I would hope! I don't know b\c I haven't been to one lol. I still use the doctor and dentist at home. I did get new contacts and stuff but I have never heard of the retinal thingy haha. I am from Williamsport, what do you expect! ;-) Anyways good luck with everything!
As far as eye doctors go, there is one eye doctor in Lancaster that has the retinal exam, and one in Hummelstown, and that's IT. And I'm not covered by either. :(
As far as medical goes, I've heard nothing but horrible mess-ups coming out of Hershey Medical Center...I think I want to avoid that place. And I'm not 100% sure my healthcare covers me anywhere outside of York County.

And so, i remain uninsured. alas, 'tis my life.
