No they're not. They've both led hard lives and the fight for survival in their world doesn't allow for friends. :(

Loved it! There's something about Jensen that makes him believable as a cold blooded killer, lol. The atmosphere and tone were spot on, put me right there in the keys wearing thin linen pants. The ending was so matter of fact, it was perfect. It was like reading an excerpt from an Elmore Leonard novel. GUH. SO GOOD!

I'm glad it didn't upset you. And the ending was ambiguous. Jared could have survived. Maybe. They're both damaged people in a violent world.

I love how ambiguous they both are; Jared says he could never kill Jensen, but why did he pull a gun on him right away? And in a lot of ways, it's crueler to do what Jensen did than to just shoot Jared...

I want to know what happens next, but I also think this is perfect the way it is.

I was meeping when I was writing this. I like making the boys walk on the dark side for a change. It's fun. I'm glad you liked the ambiguousity (new word.) :D
