I'm figuring someone will come along who knows more about the specifics of this than me, but let me just say that I hope whatever happens, you can take a breath and find the right decision for you to get well.

Having said that, I wanna point you in the direction of another really good, reeeeeally active community where you can probably find help too: vaginapagina.

Cheers,
xo

First of all BREATH - getting stressed wont help you tomorrow at your appointment. Second - make a list. Sit down and list every single one of your symptoms - when they first started, the approximate order that they appeared, which ones really piss you off, which ones you can live with. Try to remember what meds you were taking when each of the sypmtoms turned up. Take this list to the ob/gyn tomorrow.
Tell them everything you have just told us. The gyn may be able to get you an emergency appt with an endocrinologist so they can work together.

My only advice is to be totally honest with the gynae. Tell them exactly what is going on in your head, your fears etc, it may help them work out a treatment plan. You never know, it could be something as simple as changing the type of BC you are on. Good Luck, and let us know what happens!!!

ask for anti depressants. i take them and my pelvic pain got better almost instantly.
i haven't been diagnosed yet, i have a lap on june 1, but EVERYTHING else has been ruled out, and my doc said anti depressants help your mood AND pelvic pain

(i take bc for 3 months straight, with 4 breaks per year, but it doesnt help my pain unfortunately)

ive been on that too the cycle for my bc it helps A LOT ive been doing that for about 2 yrs. you wouldnt believe the change!
stress is going to make the pain work
but i agree with the anti depressents bc in all this no crap your going to be depressed. your body isnt functionnig how you want it to be or how it should. and the more you think about it the worse you feel. im like that when my period comes around and w/my ibs.
my problem w/bc is my hot flashes.

good luck
ps sorry about the spelling its late

They did additional testing and found that my testosterone, estrogen, FSH and LH were so low they were practically non-existant. This combination can apparently sometimes be responsible for psychological problems

I'm curious as to what your other symptoms were? This is interesting because I've had the symptoms you've described since I stopped taking the pill. The hair loss is one that gets me, even though I naturally have thick hair so it doesn't have a horrible impact, but at the same time the fact that I notice it so much is alarming.

All I can say is to stick with your endocrinologist. It's a slow and painful process, and one I'm going through right now. But I'd rather have them get an accurate picture of what's going on and work from there, rather than make a blunt assessment based on few factual details, and pump me full of god know's what. Not that I have a problem taking a fair amount of anything if it's the right thing, but I want to be pretty sure that it is.

My primary symptoms are psychological in nature...extreme panic attacks and generalized anxiety, OCD, mood swings, emotional outbursts...those kinds of things. I also have low iron and low b12, fatigue, frequent infections, dry eyes and dry vagina. (tons of fun). I would say those are my major symptoms anyways.

Hope that helps...I hear you about the hair loss, my hair is thick too so people don't even understand why I'm complaining, and I keep trying to explain that thick or not, it's still distressing to be holding clumps of your hair in your hands :(

Actually, I can't go the anti-depressant route either. I've tried many different ones and my body has responded horribly (in all cases it made the problems worse rather than better) so the doctors don't want me taking anymore. My only other option right now is an anti-psychotic which I think woudl be a bit much - I'd rather just stop the bcp and see where I end up.

I just can't stand it anymore...I'm busy trying to straighten all this stuff out and I'm on a leave from work (disability) because of the mental problems, and now the insurance company just phoned to tell me they've decided that there really isn't anything wrong with me and that I need to get back to work. So now I have to apply for CPP and the Ontario disability benefits and it's just all such a headache. I have three mental health professionals all telling them I am in no condition to work and yet it doesn't matter. It's so depressing.

I found your post searching through the community for side effects of Yaz. I am going through the same problem at the moment and didn't realize that it was the BC until very recently. I have been having horrid panic attacks, generalized anxiety, hair falling out, blurred vision, trouble breathing and rapid heart rate, all of which I think is due to the BC suppressing my adrenal functioning.

I am curious to hear how you are doing now because I am really praying that this will pass soon. I hope that you are doing well! I have only been off the BC for a week so I do recognize that I will probably be forced to ride it out. I have an appointment with an endocrinologist tomorrow to check all of my hormonal levels. Thanks so much!

Sorry to hear that you are/were experiencing the same problem...it certainly isn't fun. I actually started doing a lot better when I went off the BC pills...hopefully that's encouraging for you. My adrenal functioning is ok though as far as I know.

Things started to get a little hairy for me in the last week or so (I've been off since June 4th) but I'm hoping that is just due to my own hormones fluctuating (which I wouldn't be used to after so many years of piggy-backing a pill) and learning to cope with PMS, fluctuating hormones etc, in a particularily stressful time in my life. All in all, I think that is is probably a good thing that I went off the BC. Let me know how you fair if you want...or if you want to talk more, feel free to email me at vicam7(at)hotmail(dot)com
