Actually, I can't go the anti-depressant route either. I've tried many different ones and my body has responded horribly (in all cases it made the problems worse rather than better) so the doctors don't want me taking anymore. My only other option right now is an anti-psychotic which I think woudl be a bit much - I'd rather just stop the bcp and see where I end up.

I just can't stand it anymore...I'm busy trying to straighten all this stuff out and I'm on a leave from work (disability) because of the mental problems, and now the insurance company just phoned to tell me they've decided that there really isn't anything wrong with me and that I need to get back to work. So now I have to apply for CPP and the Ontario disability benefits and it's just all such a headache. I have three mental health professionals all telling them I am in no condition to work and yet it doesn't matter. It's so depressing.

I found your post searching through the community for side effects of Yaz. I am going through the same problem at the moment and didn't realize that it was the BC until very recently. I have been having horrid panic attacks, generalized anxiety, hair falling out, blurred vision, trouble breathing and rapid heart rate, all of which I think is due to the BC suppressing my adrenal functioning.

I am curious to hear how you are doing now because I am really praying that this will pass soon. I hope that you are doing well! I have only been off the BC for a week so I do recognize that I will probably be forced to ride it out. I have an appointment with an endocrinologist tomorrow to check all of my hormonal levels. Thanks so much!

Sorry to hear that you are/were experiencing the same problem...it certainly isn't fun. I actually started doing a lot better when I went off the BC pills...hopefully that's encouraging for you. My adrenal functioning is ok though as far as I know.

Things started to get a little hairy for me in the last week or so (I've been off since June 4th) but I'm hoping that is just due to my own hormones fluctuating (which I wouldn't be used to after so many years of piggy-backing a pill) and learning to cope with PMS, fluctuating hormones etc, in a particularily stressful time in my life. All in all, I think that is is probably a good thing that I went off the BC. Let me know how you fair if you want...or if you want to talk more, feel free to email me at vicam7(at)hotmail(dot)com

Thanks for your reply. I am hoping that the synthetic hormones will flush out of my system fairly quickly because I don't know how much more of this I can handle. I am noticing slight improvements where I will have a very bad day followed by an okay day.

I have been doing a lot of research on the topic and it does seem like the symptoms get better as your own hormonal levels even out and then worse during the spike before your cycle. I am very happy to hear that things are getting better for you, especially since it has only been a little under two months. I will definitely email you. It will be good to talk with someone who is dealing with endometriosis and this additional burden. Thanks!
