I'm on memfanamic acid! no one else I know takes it!
I LOVE it. though i'm coupled with another drug that is for blood pressure (of course I cant remember the name, but while i do not have HBP, it works by blocking the calcium pain receptors).
The drug not only helps my pain but also shortens my period.
So it does come generic? I'll double check with my pharmacy but if I can get it in generic form I'd be a happy girl! I'm on Seasonale so I get four periods a year and so far it's working out quite nice. :-)
I just got home from work and I can successfully say that the Ponstel doesn't make me sick/woozy/nauseous/overly tired. I'm not sure what the long term effects would be but so far this is the first med I've tried that I don't feel like I'm out in la-la-land or something. LOL!
I'm sorry your exam was so painful. My paps have never been painful for me, but maybe I've adjusted since for the last 4yrs I have to get it done every 3 or 6 months. How long have you had the endo and been working with this dr? I've had to switch offices, well I'm going for a second opinion anyway this week, so I was just wondering. I hope you're doing better

I've always been "tight" down there and my uterus is also tilted in the opposite direction so everything hurts no matter what I do. My doctor is gentle as can be and he hated to basically have to do the exam twice but my body was trying to spit that speculum out! LOL! I've been seeing my doc since September 2003 because the pain was becoming unbearable. Before then I was seeing a general practioner and always having a history of bad cramps and other pains with no reasonable so I was on Depo-Provera and trying various ibuprofens and naproxens to kill the pain. My current doctor is fabulous and he focuses more on gynecology, endometriosis, and other issues (though if I ever get married and have kids down the road, he's gonna deliver my kids). My first appointment with him we discovered I had ovarian cysts and those have thankfully
