surgery & bcp related question....

As I prepare myself psychologically for surgery next Thursday (meep!), one thing has been on my mind today and that is: how soon after surgery can you restart your BCP? My gp seemed to think two weeks would be fine...but he was quite indecisive and seemed fairly uncertain about his answer, so I figured I'd pop on here and check with you ladies as

mine told me right away, as it would protect the work he did and prevent new growth.

instead, i completely stopped taking it and haven't taken it since (almost 4 years)
