How long do you think it'll be before Morgana starts adopting stray cats?

Last night's episode was pretty typical Merlin for me - lots of very good bits, spoiled by recurring problems that made me want to shout at the telly.
The dragon: Merlin knows that he's got a lot of distance to cover to get to the Isle of the Blessed, and that Arthur and his harem knights have a couple of days head start. He knows that his path is riddled with evil spirits. He also knows he has a phenomenally powerful mystic foe to face when he gets there. So why in the world does he just let the dragon fly off after it's toasted a couple of borocca, rather than asking for a lift to his destination, and a bit of help when he gets there?
The magic: Merlin loudly commands all the Wyverns away right in the middle of a group of knights, and no-one bats an eyelid! The flagrancy with which he uses his powers in front of other people is just breaking Rule Seven now, frankly, and it's really irritating that there
