Ok, so I was changing some of my userinfo, and I looked at my interests list and I noticed that Ender's Game was blue and underlined... meaning that at least one person shared that as an interest... so I clicked on it, and boy was I suprised. Hallo newbie! *waves*

I read Ender's Game for the first time in summer school before the 9th grade. I fell in love with it immediately.

lol, me too! Apparently post-eighth grade was just the right time! I've read everything but Children of the Mind and Xenocide, wasn't able to get into those too much, but I adore the Bean books. Am attempting to read Songmaster, but I am only a couple of pages in, too much else to read right now. Have you read it, any good?

Anyways, welcome!

Nah, I haven't gotten to Songmaster yet. Getting around to books is hard for me because I read a lot and I have so many books on my have to read list... but I've heard a lot of good stuff about Songmaster, so I might have to bump that to the top of the list and get it next time I'm at the library.

I loved Xenocide and Children of the Mind. I cried at the end of Children of the Mind, lol. I though those stories and their concepts were really great, you should go back to them when you get the chance, they are kind of strange to get into because of the Suriyawong stuff and all, but once it all starts moving along it gets really good.

Thank you :)

Thanks for the tip, I might have to go back and reconsider when I get a chance!

Definitely, there's some things in there that I'm pretty sure no fan of the Ender's Saga would want to miss.

So, why do you like Ender's Game more than Ender's Shadow? Did you like Ender's Shadow? Just curious! =)

I love Ender's Shadow. I think Ender's Shadow and Ender's Game are pretty much equal stories, the only thing that makes Ender's Game my favorite is that I have more of an attachment to it, I've read it more times, it had a big impact on me being the first time I'd ever read Orson Scott Card.

Wonderful, that makes perfect sense. Since I only recently read them both, as a freshman in college, I have much less emotional attachment than I would, had I read them early in life, and I liked Ender's Shadow a little more because the issues it dealt with were ones I could relate to personally.

Isn't it wacky/wonderful how the earlier you bond with a book, the more it means to you? Or, have you found that to be true? Like, books I read for the first time when I was young--anywhere from 7-11, I think--I tend to think of more fondly, and I'm also much more likely to have reread them multiple times and still reread them... Anyway, done rambling! =D
