My True North

Tried to be a rebel without a cause

Turned out to be a clown without applause

I might be too generic

For a world that's so barbaric

Too full of myself and all of this vichyssoise

I am absolutely awestruck. In complete and total drooling sense of awe.

This is practically wedding vows! Especially that middle part!

Oh...oh my! 😳 I hadn't considered that lens at all, but I can certainly see how valid that perspective is! Though reading that definitely made my heart skip a beat, haha! Thanks for seeing such a depth of sentiment in the song :)

I admire your courage to do a video, that would have scared me senseless.

This song is also beautiful. I cannot help but be partial to the words though. I feel like it is full of such raw and genuine emotion and especially romance. Not a sappy kind of romance, if I can be so brash, but one that feels very thoughtful and centered.
It was also especially awesome to see your footnote explaining the directionality metaphors. I wish I could read French good, so I could get more enjoyment out of the poetics of those sections. But I find those idioms truly fascinating, and feel it would be interesting to learn more of their origins.
You are always giving us such a complete package.

If this is "a silly little song," then I dare say the world needs a lot more silly little songs, and bards going around passionately singing them.
