Cal wasn't seriously considering doing the laundry, was he? "Of course," I replied.
"Not worth it," he muttered. "Fine, we'll go water the sex fiend's plants." He stood and called for Spartacus.
"I'll make sure we have some penicillin on hand for your return."
Cal's lip curled. "Ugh, don't say that." He scooped up the mummified cat and scratched its hairless chin. "I can't take Spartacus on public transport."
"Are you asking if you may borrow my car?"
"No, I'm warning you I'm going to build a gate," said Cal. "Stand back."
