Here's the thing: I would really like to GENTLY ENCOURAGE those who are able, to:

I think this is a great idea.
Lj lost quite a few good H/D writers. Most were courteous in letting the readers know they were pulling down their Lj site, so that the readers could save their H/D fictions.

I cancelled my dreamwidth account, but may have to ask for an invite and reinstate it, if a lot of writers and stories are going to be entered over at Dream width.

I mainly hang out on Archive of Our Own.

I am on Live journal a little, but not as long as I used to.

Please let me know the status of all this.

Thank you.

It's a very good idea. I think younger fans are more apt to use Tumblr and Twitter and stuff like that, which is why fandom seems to be dwindling here at LJ.

I'm not sure you need an invite at DW, at least not when I set up an account. Have you tried it lately?

I miss all those authors, too, but at least they all left their LJs active. I'm afraid I'm not on anything BUT LJ, IJ, and DW. No Tumblr or Twitter or anything of the like.

As for LJ getting rid of non-Russian journals, I don't see it happening. Their solvency is dependent on how many users they have. The more the merrier, for them.
