Lorcan seemed not to sense Lily's distress over the baby blanket his mum had knitted. He was still in a jocular mood when he said, "All that's missing is a bonnet and some booties."
"I hope she isn't expecting us to get married as soon as we leave Hogwarts," Lily muttered.
Lorcan's smile faded. "Don't you want to get married, Lils?"
Lily's throat tried to close. "You want to travel," she managed to say, "and I plan to attend uni." That had been the plan, but having a baby was going to change the future she'd once envisioned for herself.
