Scorpius cornered Flint that afternoon, as they were both returning to the dungeons, and asked Flint outright if he was on the pull.
"Are you barmy?!" Flint appeared utterly gobsmacked. "I'm not interested in you!"
His comment aggravated Scorpius. "And why not?" he demanded. "I'm rich and handsome. You'd be barmy not to be interested in me."
Flint had the nerve to laugh. "Why are we arguing about this? You're not bent, or so you say, and I fancy Potter. Besides, my father instructed me to steer clear of you."
"What?! Why?"
"He told me Malfoys are nothing but trouble."
