Summary: Harry wants to make amends.

Once he felt better, Harry braved Twilfitt and Tatting's. He reckoned the least he could do was express his gratitude to Auror Malfoy with a gift. Harry forced himself to bypass the scandalous pants he'd like to see Malfoy wearing. Instead, he ventured over to the selection of ties. Harry reached for a sober, black tie, only to hesitate with his hand hovering above it. Malfoy didn't need staid and sober; he needed to loosen up a bit. Becoming an Auror had turned Malfoy into a complete boor, and Harry found he rather missed the old, snarky Malfoy who was full of fire. Malfoy needed a tie that reminded him of his impetuous youth.

Harry pawed through the ties until he found one that made him laugh. This was the tie for Malfoy.

Draco returned from a routine patrol, paused to speak briefly to his partner, then he returned to his desk in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

"Delivery for you, Malfoy," said one of the other Aurors, tossing a package onto Draco's desk. It was wrapped in nondescript brown paper, and the only writing on the outside was his name. Draco frowned and drew his wand, waving it over the package in a complicated series of movements. Finding nothing amiss, he sat back and began to open it.

"Who's it from, Malfoy? A secret admirer?"

"Shut your gob, Waterman," Draco countered without missing a beat. He pushed the wrapping aside, revealing what appeared to be a gift box for a tie. Draco's scowl deepened. It wasn't his birthday; why would anyone be sending him a tie?

He sifted through the paper and found a note. Draco unfolded it and read:

Malfoy, thank you for putting me safely to bed last night. I will strive not to cause any more disturbances on your shift.

Draco's brows climbed upward. He opened the box and discovered an expensive, silk tie. It was a pale blue, the color of the sky in Spring, and golden Snitches flitted and fluttered all over it.

Draco couldn't help but laugh. Potter, that dog, had all but guaranteed Draco would think of him any time he wore this tie.
