Summary: Aurora makes a naughty suggestion. Follows Splashing Out Party.
Irma reached for her undergarments, only to have Aurora snatch them out of reach.
"Be bold, madam," Aurora cajoled. "If we must return to the party, I think you should go, sans knickers."
Irma gasped at the mere mention of such behavior. "I could never!" she sputtered. "What would people think of me?"
Aurora raised an elegant brow. "I have learned that the unhappiest people in the world, are those who care the most about what other people think," she said. "Besides, who will know, aside from us?"
Irma would never admit to it aloud, but the professor's naughty suggestion was certainly titillating. What would it be like, to return to the Great Hall and mingle, whilst leaving her knickers behind? No one would know; it would be a naughty secret she shared only with Professor Sinistra. Irma visibly wavered.
"What say you, madam?" asked Aurora. "Will you be fearless with me?"
Irma's rigid moral compass urged her to decline. However, her scandalous inner imp, which Aurora had freed this evening, was urging her to accept the challenge. Irma vacillated a moment more, then she blurted, "Very well, I'll go. Eep!"
Aurora threw her head back and laughed. "That's the spirit, madam!" she cried. "Trust me, gadding about without knickers will be one of the most freeing experiences of your life."
"Do you know this from your own experience?" Irma asked. Her voice was shorter than she'd intended, but she was nervous, and it was making her testy.
Aurora's eyes sparkled with good humor, and a sly smile curved her full lips. "As a matter of fact, I do know this from first-hand experience," she replied. "Don't be shocked madam. I assure you, I am not in the habit of going without knickers on a regular basis. I do find it liberating, but I only indulge on special occasions."
Irma had to admit that this party was certainly a special occasion. At least, it was proving to be so for her.
Aurora donned her dress and fluffed her hair. "Are you ready to return to the Great Hall, madam?"
Irma quailed as her nerves threatened to overcome her. She firmed her chin and smoothed her own hair. "Yes," she said, nodding once. "Let's go."
