He turns around and leans against the counter to watch the people dancing away their energy and good sense. Lewis looks like he's in a good mood, both relaxed and restless. Excited.]

She has her hands halfway down the band of a drunken girl's tights, but she'll stare right at him, curious to know if he'll notice, how he'll react. She could always use more company.]

Zinc hefts the girl up, dumping her carelessly on someone else before she works her way out of the throng of bodies to come say hello. She's been here since sunset, and her clothes are stuck to her skin with the humidity of the dance floor.]

Didn't mean to interrupt you.

[She crosses her legs at the knee, foot jiggling in the air. She's not, precisely, a fashionable young woman, her clothes are rather muted in comparison to the creature around her, but she has an unshakeable confidence: those clothes are lucky to be carried by her, and not the other way around.]

Can I buy you a drink?
[She looks like she use some kind of refreshment.]

Lewis is resting his side against it, now, facing Zinc as he places a cigarette between his lips. He glances at the drink and offers his hand.]
I'm Lou.

I'm Zinc, Lou.
[Not her real name, she was born Carla, but everyone in the gangs had a fake pickup. She is still determined to weasel Barbet's real name out of him, one day.]
Are you here for the drinks, or the college girls?
Reply
He smiles when they shake hands, picking the unlit cigarette from his mouth again. He's still considering giving it some use.]
Both, really. Nobody wants to be alone and sober on a Wednesday night.
[He fishes out his cigarette pack to offer her one and take out his lighter. She seems perfectly sober, so that leaves the former.] 'You alone here?

All the company I could want.
[And she didn't want it. She came for the sex, and when that was done, she wasn't interested anymore. People were too stupid to be fun for long, and why would she waste her time with them when she could be working, or watching Barbet sketch.]
