As for the Canada thing, I'm actually told that they have one of the most powerful army companies in the world, better than Britain's SAS. But the French do need to get the foot-long stick out of their collective ass. XD
But anyway, yea, my parents used to have a cat that would just lie down next to the street and let pigeons dive-bombit, without even TRYING to defend itself. Cats. ~~
As for anime... you might consider the TV series of AD Police. It starts out heavy on action, but around the middle, the drama and the romance factor kicks in with a vengeance. You might actually start to cry after the last episode. Just thought you might like to know. :D
I dreamed once I was actually MARRIED to one of my ex-girlfriends. Xx Let's hope it will never come to pass.
As for the move, at least you're in the same state. Any further than that and it's Hell trying to get a grip on your new area. But I'd say the anime store alone makes it worth the move. Still, hope everything works smoothly.
