The sirens faded, and Hotch fell against Gideon's soft shirtfront as everything went black.

Yar!! Bah, you are well on your way to making me like Hotch/Reid. Almost. You must do more to convince me. *Wink*

Apologies, bit of a sibling problem there....

Glad you enjoyed it! I'm always happy to bring a smile. I certainly owe you guys that much after chapter 3's ending. *laughs*

awesome rescue! I just caught up on the last few chapters and could barely read fast enough. A lot of stuff happening and oh, poor reid. I could barely read the entire section when the unsub assaulted him and hotch was reading to him. Oh. Just. Yeah, I'm fairly speechless in general.

I still can't get a handle on what the deal is with Prentiss. And how nice to see Elle again. The almost kiss at the end is great. I love the rapport, dialogue, throughout this with Reid and Hotch.

As for whether to keep going into arc 2 (wow, 3 arcs, oh the anticipation), in my writing I find that if I'm on a roll in a 'verse then it is best to stay with it, but with others it's different. So afraid no good answer here. I do know if you keep going you're less liable to have readers 'lose' their place.

Haha. I could barely write that section. Every time I had to reduce Reid to begging and tears I wanted to cry myself. And yeah, Prentiss. I didn't like her at first, but it's the strangest thing--since I started trying to portray her in a more positive light, I've found myself really liking her. Especially her talks with Strauss. There was a conversation that was supposed to take place on the car trip up, but it couldn't be integrated with ANY amount of ease, so I'm just gonna let it happen when it wants to.

Also ELLE. <3 Yes, I love Elle. And Hotch is a tough character to pin down in an emotional situation, since he's err. Not the emotional type. But I tried to get flustered/blood-loss/affectionate Reid. Which was immensely fun.

I agree. I'll admit, I do have other things I may need to work on, but you're right about one thing, it's good once you're on a roll. I worry that I might lose my recently acquired in-character ability for Hotch and Reid... all right, it's another vote to keep on truckin' then! *brick'd for expression*

Thank goodness. My heart was in my hroat for this whole installment because I was sure Hatford would be lurking around to pick them off after the explosion.

Don't think I didn't want to have a Western-style shootout. Badly. Because I totally did. *laughs*

But Reid, Hotch, and all of you guys deserved something nice for a change, so the shootout has been postponed to arc 3.
