She found out about cheating on LJ?! That's so not cool. My ex-boyfriend ended our 2-year relationship by slipping a Dear John Letter under my door, but man...LJ kinda takes the cake. Your poor friend.
Wow~ I have relatives like that. Sorry that you had to find out that way.
You know, my dad's parents moved to Florida a few years ago. My family had no idea until about a week or so before they were supposed to leave. Relatives are a strange thing.
Dude, my cousin had a second kid and I didn't even know his girlfriend was pregnant! I show up to our 4th of July thing, and there's a newborn perched on her lap and I'm just like wtf? Nobody told me she was even preggers again! So you're not the only one :)
That's odd about your son not telling you about his girlfriend. What did he say when you talked to him about it?
Man, I gotta say -- finding out about my cousin's pregnancy on Facebook is pretty bad, but at least I didn't find out on Myspace. XD
Haha, feel free to snag the icon, it was made by those_icons. Colbert expresses my incredulity so well.
Awww, thanks, sweetie. And I should probably take back what I wrote -- I don't think that my family would shun me, but I don't think that they'd say "I think it's great that you're bi!" either. If I were to marry or even date a woman, I know they'd have a really hard time adjusting to it. *sighs* What can you do?
Haha, that's cute about your son and his girlfriend. Most young adult males are way more private and embarrassed about lovey-dovey stuff than girls are, anyway. ;)
Pfft, does seem a little strange that she wouldn't tell you. Strange way to find out, on Facebook. Yes, it would definitely be hypocritical of them after this incident but, um...have you heard Sarah Palin speak? Conservative-has daughter pregnant out of wedlock-methinks she's anti-gay. Doesn't add up, now does it? Grr...Palin. -shakes fist-
Haha, it's funny you mention Sarah Palin because I thought of her too. Granted, my cousin is at least not a teenager, but still. It's amusing for me to think of how the news of her being pregnant with a guy she's only been with for a short time (and isn't married to) will probably be less of a deal than how my relatives would react if I came out. Not that I think that any of them would actually be cruel to me -- they'd probably just think they could forget about it by ignoring it. :-P What a sad world we live in sometimes.
Hehe, I knew you'd like the icon. I could watch him say "what the fuck, y'all?" for hours. XD
Isn't that sick? Your sexual orientation would be more objectionable than someone getting pregnant outside of wedlock with a man she hardly knows. Alas.
Yeah. And I hate to sound like I'm saying bad things about my cousin and my family...I guess I wanna stress again that I don't think that she's done anything wrong (although it does worry me a bit that she doesn't know the baby's father well, as you said). It's just that I know my "sins" would be seen as worse than hers. And it's not really fair but oh well.
It kind of cracks me up that you and I are always online at the same time. XD But it's awesome too. How goes the paper, hun?
