I had the same problem. sushimustwrite is already so known, and my real name is unique but hard to spell. I went with the real name because that'll never change.

321shenanigans is cool with the numbers because they actually mean something.

Yeah, I'm so tired of people calling me "emo" or "emo boy" for short. The name started out as a joke because I was like "I'm getting an LJ, what should my name be... well, LJs are so emo so I'm gonna make fun of that..." aand yeah now I'm stuck with it. d:

I figured being as one can already search by name, having a username of one's own name is a bit redundant. I was thinking of the username as an easier way to direct someone to find you without having to explain spelling (or multiple persons of same name for more common names), as such I also dismissed use of our last name for spelling issues.
