Too plausible, that Sam might begin to fragment this way without ever seeing it. His lesson learned about concealing the use of his powers won't help if he doesn't remember that Lucifer isn't real. Or perhaps I should say "isn't a separate physical entity," because he's plenty real. And he's spent more time with Lucifer than with Dean; who's his touchstone again?
Sam can turn Lucifer into anything he wants to without realizing what he's doing. Now, what does he want Lucifer to be? He's going to end up with something that's partly Dean!Siren, partly Lucifer at his most compelling, and partly Sam without his self-control, because you can't exert self-control over something you don't think is you. Oh, my.
