Not very flashy, but certainly mobbed.

This weekend I took part in an enormous "flash mob" of the Hallelujah Chorus at Nordstrom in downtown Seattle. It was organized by the Symphony, and we invited a bunch of other local choruses to join. The goal was to get 300-400 people. They cut off the RSVPs at 500. I don't know how many people actually showed up (there's always some attrition, ( Read more... )

Right at the end of the long held out "lord of lords" that go high in the soprano part, there's a woman in a red sweater in the main part of the frame. Over on the right edge are Kathryn and me, she's wearing a dark top and I have a Disneyland t-shirt and a bag with a bright red shoulder strap. We're only there for about 3 seconds, though.

And, of course, there are approximately five tenors *giggle*

One of these days I am going to have to either pick a part or learn both the soprano and alto all the way through. I still need the score a bit; I am still a switch.

I think there were about 60 tenors signed up? But yeah, I think it was ~ 160 each S and A, 60 T and 90 B.

We had a pdf of the score on my iPad just in case but I don't think either one of us used it. But, as I say... 5 performances a year over most of the last decade. Hard not to memorize things. And every once in a while there's something I learned *wrong*, darn it! But we do use scores anyways because we switch conductors all the time.
