What a day. Found out that someone I'm really very fond of is dying. I knew she'd had cancer but as of a month or so ago she'd recovered quite a bit. Now she's taken a turn for the worse, is mostly unconscious and isn't expected to live more than a few days, a week at most. She's about 50 ( Read more... )

I'm so sorry to hear that. Have you had a chance to talk to the friend, or write something out, even though (depending on her state) she may not hear or read it? I know that part of the shock is probably wondering what to say, but I hope you get the chance to talk to her soon.

Yes, I wrote something. Her parents are with her and will read her things, even though she is unconscious most of the time.

The good news is the second friend's follow-up tests came back 100% normal.
