NVC Day One: Arrival and settling in [David & Emma]

Em sighed as she dropped her bags into their temporary accommodations while the ship underwent repair. They'd been warned that the environment was warm. "Emmy." David grinned down at his wife. "So this is New Vulcan, huh? It's very," He paused momentairly to think of an appropriate word. There wasn't much that he could say about it. The colony was undeniably arid and uncomfortbly like home. "well it's very nostalgic." There, that was a perfectly good word.

He nodded silently, listening before commenting "Y'mean while I was dead you were havin' fun?" With a sigh David gently tugged her closer "C'mere you. Now, unless you were expectin' me to pop up, and Lord knows I wasn't, there is nothin' wrong with that, y'hear me? If you had of moped about bein' all depressed then I wouldn't of been best pleased with you. Not of course that I'm all that best pleased that you were havin' fun without me but I don' care. I'm here now."

She smiled and kissed him softly. "I was always afraid of what you'd do if you ever found out about my sordid past. I wanted to warn Lenny about it when he went off to college but...never got the chance." She moved to nuzzle the side of his face. "And...I wouldn't call it fun. You've sort of ruined me. Anyone before and after you wouldn't qualify as remotely fun. I just figured...well...second lease on life, should finally tell you what I've been keeping secret all this time."

"You were expectin' a witch hunt?" David asked, half amused "You know better then anyone that I'm in no postition to judge anyone else Emmy after what I did to Lenny, I drank too much, I worked too much, I wasn't as good to you an' Lenny as I could have been." He admited, ashamed of his behaviours. Tightening his grip around his wife's waist David pressed another affectionate kiss to the top of her head "But this is another life, right? A blank slate."

She smiled brightly at him. "Yeah. A blank slate." Em sighed and laid her head on his chest, just listening to his heart beat. "We've got a son, a grand daughter in this universe, another one from another universe, another son from yet another universe. I've also adopted two more." she chuckled. "Maybe I should spend some time with Jo. Apparently, I've got MawMaw time to make up for." She laced their fingers together. "I've missed you, you know. When I learned about you...from Lenny...damn near killed me. It was just so strange to be alive without you."

"Jeez Emmy, why don'cha just adopt the whole damn ship? It'd be a lot quicker." He teased, shaking his head lightly. Emma always had been far too caring for her own good. "I missed you too baby girl. I know, it...it wasn't happy without you either." David had been downright depressed when Emma had passed away, locked himself away dealing with her death with alcohol and solitude. Not exactly the most healthy way.

She kissed him deeply, happy to have him in her arms again. "I love you, David. Never did stop even after I supposedly died and came back to life." She stroked his face with the back of her hand.
