Aha, thank you so very much. <3 I'm so happy you liked this one, bb! (Quite a shift in tone from the last one, eh?) And oh my goodness, thank you for calling this realistic. I really wanted to delve into Blaine's emotions without going ridiculously over the top, and I'm so glad you felt it worked. <3
BOTH Blaine and Karofsky are guilty parties to being petty and jealous and stupid high school boys <-- THIS. This, this, this, this, this. <3 I love them both, honestly, but both Blaine and Dave are at fault for their actions here. They both get so invested wound up in being petty and small, and they both behaved badly. By the end, Blaine is even still thinking in terms of 'how do I keep Kurt with me'. Oh, boys.
And New York... man, Blaine had better get ready. XD Thank you so much for reading!
This was such a yummy enjoyable read, right from the first sentence. I knew from your other stories that it would be really good, but on top of that I'm a sucker for pining! (lusting hehe) Dave and clueless! Kurt, so when I read the summary I was like...."ooh yeah, let me settle in and enjoy this chocolate" lol and it delivered as expected. Needless to say I would love for you to write more of this kind of dynamic, whether in a sequel to this or other fics entirely. Also, you mentioned worrying about the potential AUness that might arise, and that is a factor of fics that never bothers me at all. If a fic is good, its good, and I enjoy it, whether it's AU or not. Wow I didn't mean for this to be such a long comment, lol.
Oh, hurray, thank you so very much. <3 I'm so happy you liked it! Mmmm, loving the imagery of fic as chocolate, too! So perfect! :3 As you miiiight be able to tell (from the fact that every single one of my fics except two has Dave pining for Kurt in some way, and he plays an important role in all but one of my stories) unrequited Kurtofsky is definitely a major thing for me. :) I just love Dave for what a fuck-up he is, how badly he manages to make a mess of the things he cares about. So happy this delivered for you!
It's interesting, and I'm glad that you enjoy fic whether it's old or not! But for me, it's definitely about characterization. If new information comes to light about characterization that changes the way I see the character... *shrug* I find it really hard to read older fic about them. It's why I'm such a wreck about S3 starting, and why I wish the hiatus would last forever!! XD But I'm glad you liked it, hon! Thank you so much for reading!
Oh, I see, if that's how your muse works with the characters, then I can see how that would affect your writing. During the hiatus, anything is possible, hehe I get it. :-) Oh man, I hope they do a love triangle for season 3! That would be so hot! Lol
This is just such an amazing, and brilliant read! You wrote Blaine and Karofsky very realistically and very in character. I could definitely see this happening, and I just love the ending where Blaine had an epiphany. I love how you didn't make Blaine or Karofky into villains, but instead showed that they are just acting like what they are--teenagers.
And really, Karofsky's one-sided love and care for Kurt had me feeling his pain, because unrequited love just really hurts like a bitch.
Thank you so much!! I'm SO happy that you felt the characterization was realistic despite the slightly dramatic subject matter. They're both just -- just such teenage boys, aren't they, the two of them? Both of them are at fault here in a big way, but in the end at least Blaine is able to finally let it go and come to his senses a bit. So happy that worked for you. <3
And it so, so does, doesn't it? I have all the sympathy for Dave in the world, because in my own headcanon he really loves Kurt quite a lot... and he knows it will never work out. :( So glad he was relatabe for you, and thank you so much for reading!
alsdkfjlsdkfjsdl Karofsky just gave me the chills in this. Wonderfully done. I really liked Blaine's realization at the end, too, that was really fabulous.
Hurrah for keysmashes! :3 So happy that the story resonated emotionally with you in this -- thank you so much! And I'm pleased you enjoyed Blaine's realization at the end; BB can be a little oblivious, as we all know, even though it would have been better for him to cotton on about that earlier. Oh, Blainers.
Oh, I know, right?? I was dying to see if anyone would cover this angle, because the logical place my brain went after "Blaine is transferring" was "OMG WHAT WILL DAVE DO??". And then no one wrote anything about it. At all. And I was like WUT and then it was just like FUCK IT. *write write write*. ;) I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and were happy that I was the one to finally break down!
So happy that you enjoyed Blaine putting Kurt's feelings back into the equation. <3 Blaine got a little carried away for a while there, building it up in his head and forgetting to notice anything else -- but I'm so happy he realized what was important in the end.
