Last night was uneventful, in a good way. Due to the drought, Harris County banned all sale and use of fireworks (except for several professional shows). This is absolutely unprecedented in Texas. I'm with you on non-professional fireworks. I love love love fireworks, but not when I think someone is at risk of causing harm.

Someone on Twitter retweeted a "May the fourth be with you," and my first thought was, "Huh? It's not May." Obviously the joke is lost on those who choose to say this in July.
