I have this stuff that I spray every 6 months all around the edges/floor of the house and it works really well, but they still get in. I occasionally find one with it's legs up in the air dead on the floor. I don't even like to pick them up with the dust pan! even though it's dead, just looking at one makes me shiver.
I've always wondered how they get in the bathroom, and I never considered that they'd come up in the drain. yuck.
