Personally? I didn't like it. I felt it was only superior to Temple of Doom (lol) and I wished they would have done another Bible legend. As much as I'm not religious, those were always my favourites, especially Last Crusade, and I was really sad because I didn't think Indy and Mutt had much chemistry at all.

And yes, the monkeys were hokey as hell.

I can understand it from your point of view. I really only have a connection to the Last Crusade, and wasn't that fond of Temple of Doom so I guess I'm more open to differences. I know there was a decent amount of criticism from big fans of the series.

I wasn't expecting the aliens route but I thought they handled it pretty well. Could have been a lot worse. They probably could've done a better job with the russians, they really didn't do much to make them unique compared to the nazis of the previous films.

I don't know I thought I saw a bit of young indy with his dad from Last Crusade in the latter parts of their interactions as the film winded down. I didn't expect much chemistry because they'd just met, and there would be awkwardness with their connection revealed to themselves.

Yeah, the aliens thing was the worst thing about it for me; it was like Indy meets Alien and Close Encounters, and I was just hoping for something with a little more pizazz!

It just didn't feel memorable to me, personally, and I really wish it had! :(
