I think the stunned silence around the table (it was a very big table) had two connotations: one was OMG she's out of control. The other was OMG I wish I'd said that.

Sorry I'm late to the party but didn't want to miss out on wishing you a very happy birthday, even if it is belated. Sounds like you're getting a very much deserved weekend off (though it seems to me that they owe you a WHOLE lot more than that, no?).

As for the Moment of Unrestrained Honesty...I say go you, srsly. It needed to be said and I don't think you have anything to feel guilty about. Hell, if anything, it seems to me they're lucky you didn't say a whole lot more. ;)

I am ALL for work as a background noise.

They did give me a free week off. And I'm taking it between Xmas and NY. I'm not union represented, of course. So overtime galore and no pay or comp time. *sigh*
