cold/flu

Well I've been stuck at home w/a cold-flu (no temperature, so I guess that is cold instead of flu?) and while house bound I've been watching DVDs, reading comic books, taking down the Christmas tree, and trying to organized for 2007.

Sorry your sick. But hopefully you have some medicine to make you better. At least you have things to keep you occupied.

I really like that drawing. Your style reminds me of Talous Letrec, I've probably spelled that wrong but I know you can understand it.

Thank you, that is a big compliment, Toulouse-Lautrec was a great graphic artist as well as a great painter. I really should make him more my inspiration since he managed to do both.

I think I'm almost over the cold...it is just the usual thing, I don't get colds very often but at least one is at a fairly convenient time.

that is interesting. My most urging question is: Why did you draw Jane Eyre? If I remember it correctly, you didn´t really like it did you?

Anyway, before firing away any questions I should tell you that I like it! I don´t think your writing is weak, I think it fits well to the drawing. I hate it much more if the writing doesn´t complements the drawing, but instead is meant to somehow contrast it (one of the reasons why I don´t like the Jim Butcher covers).

Someone was thinking of making up mock posters to show off his design skills, but wanted to avoid using Firefly/Serenity stuff because Universal had been cracking down on trademark & copyright laws. So I was suggesting using things we all know are in public domaine ( ... )

I was searching online for other illustrated Jane Eyres, and I could see that something was done fairly recently...but it took itself pretty seriously from what I could tell. I wanted to get a little snarkier...
Mine will probably be pretty short, we'll see how far I get, and how hard it is to tell the story. I have to pick up a copy of the novel because I do want some of the 'balloons' to be direct quotes from the novel.
When I finish it I think I'll try to get some copies printed up at Kinkos or something...and I could send it to some comic book publishers, or show some people at San Diego's comic con. Of course it is possible that I won't stay this excited about the idea.... It is definitely going to take some work to do it right (ie be both true the original text and as off-color and humorous as I want).

It is very free-ing to deal with something that is clearly in public domain, I can really do exactly what I want! LOL
