Well I've been stuck at home w/a cold-flu (no temperature, so I guess that is cold instead of flu?) and while house bound I've been watching DVDs, reading comic books, taking down the Christmas tree, and trying to organized for 2007.

Someone was thinking of making up mock posters to show off his design skills, but wanted to avoid using Firefly/Serenity stuff because Universal had been cracking down on trademark & copyright laws. So I was suggesting using things we all know are in public domaine:
showing Hamlet in a futuristic space setting
showing Jane Eyre as a super hero
showing Pride and Prejudice as a noir mystery....
That last one was weak, but I got really inspired about the second one, and felt that it would be fun to experiment with the real novel but drawn like one would draw a comic book heroine.

When I was little a lot of Classic books (Moby Dick, Last of the Mochigans, Robinson Cruiso) were done as comic books, but they were serious and dignified. I was thinking it would be more fun to be silly and kind of snarky, but still true to the text. Anyway I'm starting in on Jane Eyre because I know the story and I think it is very suitable for this treatment...and it could be very funny/sexy. I think I'm liking it (the novel) more the more I think about this!

I really appreciate you saying you like it, because I think you know and like the book better than a lot of people.
Thanks!
