Angel seasn 4

I've been watching Angel season 4 from netflix (and yes, I'm still with netflix: I did a head to head comparison w/Blockbuster and netflix won by a mile...so even when they screw up?  they are still way better) and I have to say: it is hilarious!
The first time I saw this season, which is when it was first on TV, I was so disgusted with the whole ( Read more... )

I remember watching some of the Gina eps of Angel. Charisma always got on my nerves, so her being on Angel wasn't incentive for me to watch.

I've seen Stuart Little more times than I can count, having been a nanny. I thought it was cute for the most part. And Hugh Laurie and Gina Davis are wonderful. You have to watch these movies through the eyes of a 5 year old to enjoy them.

oh I'm afraid that even at 5 I had more sophisticated tastes: I saw things through the eyes of my big brother (8 by then) and my big sister (11 years old and already into very interesting things...if she didn't think something was cool then you can bet I wouldn't either!). And besides, back when I was 5 Disney was making things like 'Snow White' & 'Alice in Wonderland' instead of 'Stewart Little' (ie things that were much darker and more interesting...).

But Hugh Laurie always does find interesting things to convey even when he has no lines.... Unlike Charisma (I was late coming to Angel because I wasn't a fan...I was just happy she left Sunnydale! Anya was SO much more interesting).

Oh, I liked season 4 quite a lot! Much more than season 3 and even more than season 2. I actually think that a lot of things came together nicely ( ... )

Oh I could understand why the writers on Angel thought that two attractive people, working closely together, day and night, for years, would grow closer from friendship to love...
and after all, they never let it get consumated (that 'missed timing' thing is very real life IMO).

But in rewatching I could hear humorous lines that were delivered so badly, with such terrible timing, that you didn't even notice they were supposed to be funny first time around...

And your complaint about Fred's discovery of Jasmin's evilness was actually a discussed problem...in the commentary to 'Magic Bullet' the writer/director said that it was really a problem: the exposure to the blood was supposed to cut the bond, but it only made you really really sad UNTIL you actually could see Jasmin's true face, and then you were supposed to understand the entirety of the situation.... It was confusing to both the writers and the fans.
