When I first started itching to write this (about four months ago now, if that's any indicator of how I've been slaving), the first question I asked is, "Would Logan really be accused of such a crime?" But then, when your best friend is Dick Casablancas, I realized he really wouldn't have the allies he needed to handle Veronica's death in any sort of fashion. So I went ahead with it ( ... )

Can Veronica please not be dead? Please, please. I know that they saw her, but maybe it was a mistake? It happens right?
The despair in this one is so deep and utterly painful. From Keith to Logan, Weevil, even to Sacks and Cliff. That part where Logan told Sacks that Veronica said he didn't get enough credit, I was totally sniffling.
Not that it mattered much, because this part broke me:
In the back, the kid had cried.
“I told you, I don’t have a lawyer yet, and if I can’t have Cliff, I don’t want a public defender.” Echolls wiped hastily at his face with his sleeve. “Besides,” he mumbled, “isn’t this like a cop’s dream? Interrogate the suspect without an attorney shooting down his every question?”
It's so Logan and it's so goddamn sad. I don't know how Keith could think it was Logan though, considering all the enemies she had. Ugh, this is just so heart breaking and I love your writing, all the details... Everything. I'm equally dreading/looking forward to the next

I'm sorry to have depressed you, but I'm so glad your reaction was what it was to the Logan and Sacks scene. I wrote and rewrote and read aloud and changed it fifteen times until I could see him in that interrogation room, JD saying those words and crying those tears, and only when it felt real to me did I leave well enough alone. Thanks for reading!

I think you got that scene so well, it all played out in my head and I could see and hear all of it.
I've been thinking about this fic, and you know, if Logan dies avenging Veronica and they end up together that way, it won't be so bad. LOL
PS. Do you mind if I friend you?

Of course not! In fact, I've already friended you for good measure.

Something about Logan's position as the suspect for Veronica's murder coupled with just how much the odds are stacked against him has me hoping that more of this will be up sooner rather than later.
It's so interesting to watch the town turn on Logan when Veronica shows up dead and all evidence points to him, even if he's doing his best to stay he didn't do anything.
I'm all out of things to say, but well, I hope that more of this is coming soon because I'm far too invested in what's going on here.

I'm glad you liked it and especially glad I have you hooked, since this whole WIP thing is new to me in the VM fandom, and I want to do it right. Hopefully, I can satisfy you with an update shortly. I have about three chapters fully written, plus the ending, and everything plotted out in detail in between, but I'm still tweaking what I have written to be sure they're just as I want them.
Thanks for reading!

As for whether or not Keith would believe it, I also struggled. If you do continue reading, you'll see in later chapters the compromise I made per that storyline. Whether or not you do, thanks for tuning in for chapter one!
