Version 2.0 for the win

Way back in December, Steve's family all chipped in to get me an e-book reader for Christmas. They chose a Kindle, which was absolutely perfect. The only catch was that the hardware was back ordered. Steve actually placed the order in December, but the physical reader wouldn't be here til March ( Read more... )

Isn't it? And I've been seeing a lot of websites come up where you can download e-books for free, and it'll let you read those, too. I am so excited!

That's wonderful! Good move on Amazon's part, there.

It's a shame that Amazon's e-book prices are still so high (I read an article the other day that pointed out 30% of their Kindle titles are >$9.99), but between your academic .pdfs, feedbook.com, the Baen free library, and all the other no-cost sources out there, you shouldn't run out of transportable material any time soon!

After you've had a chance to use it for a while, would you perhaps post with a review?

That's awesome! I don't get the appeal of Kindle, personally, but it's great that you're getting something you want, and the shiny new upgraded version at that.
