I got my Kindle today! As far as I can tell, it is amazing and exactly what I need. My first purchase, with coffeechica in mind, was Coraline.

Way back in December, Steve's family all chipped in to get me an e-book reader for Christmas. They chose a Kindle, which was absolutely perfect. The only catch was that the hardware was back ordered. Michael Chrichton died today at the age of 66 of a private battle with cancer.

His books (not the movies as much, but the books) shaped a pretty big part of my childhood. I am truly saddened over this loss.

Okay, that just made my day. It seems they're making a movie of one of my all-time favorite books, The Golden Compass. I know that the movie will never be as good as the book, but I will actually get to see the story played out on the big screen... Eee ( Read more... )
