So, on the heels of my last feminism-post: (I want to call these my "Fem-positive posts", from now on... just changed my 'Feminism' tag to "Fem-positive posts!".)

I'm not saying that some families/parents aren't to blame, 'cause I'm sure there are some out there that do help to ingrain this behavior/message...but yeah, it goes beyond the home/family.

I don't understand the teachers -they know better than that.

You're totally right though, we tend to take what our parent's say as being biased -and I'm sure it is, but they tend to be trying to tell you the truth, too and we totally ignore that, unfortunately.

Yeah, shit today is bad. I've been hearing that kids as young as in junior high (and maybe even younger) are already having sex -girls are giving oral sex in an attempt to try to please and keep their boyfriends, etc. There's alot of emotional abuse going on in these relationships already. It's really sad.

I 'still' haven't watched any of the Twilight movies nor read the books. I figure that I should probably at least watch the movies before continuing on with my opinions -at least to be fair.

I haven't asked you, but would you like to be on each others' friends' list? No pressure, but I seem to agree with a lot of your thinking and interests, and I have pretty much no friends on this account now, and sometimes want to get more actively involved in the sinking ship of lj!

Lol! I keep hearing people refer to LJ as dying out, but it still seems as active (to me) as it did 5+ yrs. ago. 'Course...maybe I'm just not moving around LJ enough to see the inactivity.*shrugs*

-I will forewarn you, though...I'm FARRRRR more active in my own makeup comm. and MAC_Cosmetics than I am in my personal journal or anywhere else. I'm also negligent about keeping up on other people's journals and commenting.
-It's never anything personal, but unless I know you personally, it's hard for me to really "get into" someone else's on-line life, if you know what I mean.
