Yesterday my two dogs and I were attacked by a neighbor's dog - a vizsla. Every week, Mandy and Toby follow me outside when I put the garbage on the street for collection. How terrible for all of you, but I am very glad to know that the owner of the other dog did not try to brush it all off. I hope Mandy gets well soon.

I have just looked up the breed and this behaviour seems utterly uncharacteristic. suggesting that there may well have been something wrong with the other dog. Very, very sad.

So glad Mandy is home recovering and that you weren't hurt. Dogs often end up paying the price of their owners neglect--poor or no training, baiting, teasing can escalate. I suspect that this owner knew more about the dog than you could and that this was the best decision. A sad decision but since the owner wasn't willing to put money or effort into retraining the dog, possibly the best.
