The 50 Shades of Grey trilogy has accounted for one in every five hard-copy fiction books sold this spring, not including children's literature, according to Nielsen BookScan. Holy crap one might say. The Wall Street Journal reports that the Grey books are poised to cross the 20 million mark any day now, with a pretty even split between physical ( Read more... )

Haha! Thank you!

Or as Christian Grey would say: "We aim to please, Miss Steele!" ;)

I read the first "Twilight" book and feel like that should give me enough of a foundation to mock the entire series and everything that came of it. I like that that kind of spares me from reading this.

But putting yourself through this, I am glad you had elli and legoline with you from keeping you from drowning yourself in a canal. ;)

I'll take my chances and pass, thanks. I don't have time or braincells to spare for this shit. ;p

Also, another reason why I shouldn't get myself a Kindle (had one in my claws on Friday, though and OMG I WANT ONE!!!!). THose poor things wouldn't survive me throwing them across the room when a book frustrates me as much as Twilight. ;)

I was glad to be of service! :D

I can't believe you read all three books. I was in physical agony from the few excerpts you read to us :-) Go you!

I was, too. Which was why I was huffing and puffing and rading excerpts out loud. It was just too painful for silent reading. I think it is meant to be read aloud. Or turned into a drinking game. ;)

I even read Anne Frank's diary parallel to book 3 to have something to ground me. URGH.

Thank God we didn't turn it into a drinking game, we'd have been wasted by page 20.

Poor Anne, though. Her diary will be forever connected to 50 Shades now :(

No, it won't. Anne can well stand on her own.

Yes, we would have been. :)

You know, I told Sophie that you read excerpts to us and she told me that as a marketing thing to sell at the book store they got a spankling paddle!

So that they can spank everyone that considers buying this crap? ;)
