Pipe burst in the building. It set off the fire alarm somehow? I grabbed my cats and threw them in their carriers, ready to haul ass to my parents house, but when I drove around the building I saw tehre was no smoke whatsoever and then saw the water in the basement entrance. Yeah, I stumbled upon THAT lovely little plot point when I GIS'd 'jason stackhouse tied to a bed', thikning that the S1 bed thing could be a zesty little desktop image. IMAGINE MY ABJECT HORROR when I found some of him bloodied, bruised, and screaming. After doing some research and stumbled upon Alan Ball bsaically saying he deserved it, I got really, really angry. I can handle rape scenes if they are dealt with properly (even then it's hard). So when it's used as 'karma' (SO fucked up), I get really, REALLY uncomfortable and/or stabby.

Yeah, it's spinning it on it's head, but like you said, it's only perpetuating it. Had someone said 'promiscuous people, female OR male, don't deserve this, Jason' it would have been better. But it just feeds into the whole 'men can't be raped' idea. The definition JUST changed, what, last month (of course AFTER this episode aired and was made), so for it to be framed in that way (and for Jason himself to be like 'Oh well I deserved it') is just.... reflective of the old thoughts and horrible to boot!!! I mean, if this had been done to a promiscuous female character it never would have aired, and rightly so. But if it's a guy I guess it's fair game!? Bullshit. ::steps off soapbox::
I think I'm probably giving up on this show, even if I love seeing Jason and Eric naked practically every episode....
