A few years ago, before discovering fanfiction, I tried writing original fiction. Didn't work. Because I am not good in original fiction, or because I was an inexperienced writer? Probably a bit of both.
Then I discovered fanfiction and fell in love with it. It was 2005, I think. In fact, I started writing fanfiction before I knew what it was. *lol

Sounds to me like this question is really the crux of the matter, and a question only you can answer. Can you live with it if you do fail, or if you don't try, can you live with never knowing if you might have succeeded?
Personally, I think you should give it a shot... you never know where it might lead, and that can be an interesting road to travel. :)

There is just one answer, of course. And I know it. Perhaps I just needed to hear it "said out loud"? Or, in this case, see it "written black on white"?
