You'll never see this post. But I just want to say that I'm so sorry for your loss.
And I'm sorry for the loss of all other unnamed people who lost their loved ones.
The victims should never be forgotten. I truly hope the politicians will do something to stop wars, so that this never happens again.

I can't imagine that "the politicians" have the power to "stop wars" (PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG!)! What they can do is create safe (or safer, anyway) ways for refugees to reach Europe and other safe places. As we have seen, the difficulties and dangers don't deter people -- too often, people will die rather than stay where they are -- so the only way forward is to organise the possibility of registration on the other side of the Mediterranean, and then ship, fly or drive people to their destination safely. But that isn't something that one or two countries can manage (in the long run -- though they could damn well make a start), it's something that all of Europe, including the islands that currently seem to enjoy their isolated state a bit too much, have to tackle. At once.

And yes, when a nameless faceless victim gets a face, and moreover such a young face - it is a shocking blow. :(
