"Workin' 9 to 5 / what a way to make a livin'"

1. Omigod. I left work at 2.30 in the morning. I am made of so so so much LOSE. But at least... well, I'm trying anyway... to not go into work this weekend. Surely I can do it?! That was the POINT of staying until 2.30am!! Bah. My work life is about to embark upon an ever more terrifying downward spiral over the next few weeks. I know it. *weeps* I ( Read more... )

GAH ALLISON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOPEEEEE!!!!!
MAMA LOOKS GOOOD!! YUM!

And hee I can't help but think of the cuteness that is Dolly Parton and smile. You can't help but get infected with her positivity somehow.

But yes back to Allison!!!! ALLISON!!! OMG!!

How come I've not yet seen the lantern carrying kids? I love seeing lantern carrying kids.

LOL ALLISON IS KICKASS. I so so so want to see her live! *weeps* And Dolly is incredible. It's terrible. I might have to start listening more to her music now! She's great.

Don't you ever? I think you can see them if you wander around in the Clarke or Boat Quay areas sometimes, and certainly around housing estates?

Maybe I'm remember it from a LONG TIME AGO and they don't do this anymore!? *sobs*

OMG I WOULD KILL TO SEE HER LIVE! But will you get to see 9 to 5? You're going in Jan right? Too early?

And yes gah I LOVE DOLLY! I actually prefer her version of I will always love you than Whitney's version. My guilty pleasure: Country music and the Dixie Chicks. LOL!

Yeah I saw this lantern thing last year at the playground below my flat but this year there's no signs of the kiddies!
I love to see the unique lanterns they have, like idk Nemo Lanterns was a big hit way back when!

I won't get to see her in January, no! :( It only opens in NYC in March/April, which sucks and means I have to fly up AGAIN to see it. ARGH.

I'll have to go find out more about Dolly then. ;)

Awww about no kiddies. D:

LOVE YOUR ICON.

What ARE mooncakes?

(I always wonder what would happen if your lantern catches fire. That would be quite sad, no?)

*cries* It would be horrible!

Lana and I have tickets for Wicked on Jan 17th, evening show :P

These are mooncakes! They're huge here, around the Mid-Autumn festival. As in, everyone eats them, buys them for each other as gifts etc. I can't though - it's WAY too crazy-rich for my taste.

Wicked tickets ZOMG ZOMG.

Now that I've read the Wiki article, I totally want to try a mooncake. Perhaps minus the egg yolks - those sound weird, but I'm obsessed with red bean/mung bean fillings. I think I fail, though - I was in SF during their big Mid-Autumn festival celebration and didn't bother walking the six blocks to investigate. Oops.

Oooh, that's why you have to come visit Singapore! Every other Asian dessert here is filled with red beans! Which I personally don't like - and is also why I prefer Western desserts like ice cream and cookies - but it's everywhere here. Green tea ice cream with red beans poured over it = QUITE A LOT OF WIN.

If you went down to Chinatown today or tomorrow, it'd still be about the right time! You might be able to get some mooncakes yet, I think.

3. FINALLY LISTENED TO WP. Made of complete win. :D *melts* And taking c-e because music is good :D

4. Yay, taking too! More music!

5. Really? I like mooncakes (sans yolk), but there aren't any good ones here. So fatty though... And it's really weird 'cos here it's just turned spring. And I've never seen people put pomelo rinds on their heads...

3. DUDE YAY. Isn't it the most amazing thing ever? Like, for serious - I am still upset about the fact that such an amazing score and cast never got its due. And yay for taking lots of music! ♥ LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK? I love Alice and Emily SO MUCH (you need pimpage of these two if you haven't already got all their stuff!) and Emil is my favourite singer EVER, so... :D

4. XD Cheno = WIN.

5. Oh it's just me, I think - I really can't stomach mooncakes, they're way WAY too rich. Wait a sec - are you Asian, by any chance? I ask only because most people haven't a clue what mooncakes are unless you're at least partly Asian.

3. YES. They are teh awesome! :) All of them - WP, Alice, Emily, and sort-of Emil. Only sort-of because he is reminding me how bad my cantonese is. I could understand him thanking the audience at the end and that was all... Which leads to:

5. Yep, Asian. :) I lived in HK for 4 years, then moved here. Hence, I really should know more Canto. So happy belated 中秋节!

3. Yay I'm so glad you enjoyed all the AWESOME. Man. I don't think I could live without music in my life. Just couldn't. ♥

5. Ooh, that's very cool indeed. :D I barely know any Cantonese and I grew up around people who spoke it all the time! Fail, me!!
