Let me know what you think of the Gemma Doyle trilogy. I'm not much for fantasy, but they've been on my to-read list for awhile.

Interesting Gillian quote. I can totally tie that to Xena fandom but I won't ramble on about that because unless you're a Xena fan, it would make no sense at all. But it's so true, in general, that fans get all twitterpated about relationships not being "taken there" during a series, and in hindsight, look back and go, "Hmm, I guess it was pretty obvious after all."

Sure - once I'm done reading my magazine (I'm the kind of sad dork who has to read things cover to cover), I plan to get started on that. I love fantasy, so might be biased. But will try for objectivity when reviewing it in future. ;)

I know what you mean though - even if I'm not a Xena fan, and have only watched a handful of episodes at best. But there definitely IS that whole hindsight thing for a lot of shows. Although for XF, seriously - you didn't need hindsight. It was RIGHT THERE. Says a rabid and therefore completely biased shipper. ;)

LOL I only watched a handful of X Files episodes, but I think it was rather obvious as well. With Xena, fans (including myself) would rail about Xena and Gabrielle being a couple but the show never being willing to say so explicitly and never having them kiss, but then I went back and watched the whole series (are you noticing a trend with me? first I reread the entire BSC series, then I watched all of Xena...) and um, they definitely did clearly portray them as a couple. They called them soulmates time and time again and they most certainly did kiss. It just wasn't the focus of what was going on. Oh fandom!

I flailed the fuck out when they kissed in.... aww crap I forgot the episode name. I'd look but my computer is refusing to recognise my ipod and the screen on it has froze wtf? [Any ideas?] And then he told her he loved her. And "I'd kiss you if you weren't so ugly." Hehe. My friend made a little flaily squeal video which you should completely watch. Im trying to get her to make one for House too but her XF one rocks. :) *goes and finds*

That's Dreamland. And they didn't kiss. They didn't kiss onscreen 'til a couple seasons later, sadly enough. Unless you count the not-quite kiss in Triangle in Season 6, or the aborted FTF hallway kiss.

You have the quotes mixed up though. 'I'd kiss you if you weren't so damn ugly' is from Dreamland. The kiss in Triangle was when it was Dream!Scully who belted Mulder after he kissed her.
