1. I had NO IDEA how frickin' tired I've been over the past week - apparently sleeping 3-4 hours a night while still trying to be a semi-functioning human being at work isn't a good idea - until I got home early this morning. I ended up going straight to bed at 4 in the morning or so, and waking up about 13 and a half hours later. At 5.30pm. WTF.

OH HAY GOOD MORNING? LOL I will never cease to be amazed by your crazy sleeping habits. ;)

it clearly had decided it didn't care about having a plot or being in any way logical

... ahahahaha. I've decided that I wasn't going to see this movie (haaaaaaate that they replaced Rachel Weisz, ugh) but I just might because it seems fun. ;) And I share your inexplicable love for Brendan Fraser! Seriously, I loved him the first time I saw him in anything, and always enjoy his movies no matter how ridiculous they are.

XF2 faaaaiiiiiil. Getting over that though, because so many great things have been happening lately. YAY EDEN! And other pretty good RL stuff too so yay. :D Have a good day (LOL), hon!

LOL good morning indeed! Sometimes I wonder if I'LL ever cease to be amazed at my random sleeping habits. I had seriously NOT INTENDED to sleep until the early evening, LOL.

Oh, the replacement of Rachel Weisz did not work out too well. I love Maria Bello in her indie roles and stuff, but somehow she didn't seem to be quite at home in this movie. Because it was so RIDCULOUS and she always seemed so... put-together. Brendan is AWESOME though. Am most glad that I am not the only one who has a strange crush on him and his weirdly cute cuteness. ;)

Urgh, I forgot about XF2 FAIL for you. :(:(

BUT OMG, EDEN. It's all good because of that TMOLM, no??

I like Maria Bello well enough too, but I fell in love Rachel Weisz as Evie (she and Brendan were awesome together!) and she still fit with the insanity that was Mummy Returns, so ugh. Oh well.

EDEN! AND TRACIE! It's crazy, and crazy HOT. Those women, geez.

PS. Way to cheer me up with your icon! :D Gilliaaaan. ♥

It's kind of sad, because I JUST read this interview in which Maria said she's wanted to do this kind of popcorn action flick all her career but she's been pigeonholed as an indie actress. And I'm, like, because maybe you should stick to that?!

Still. I agree on Rachel. I love her more the more things I see her in, like OMG Definitely Maybe. ♥ LOVE.

YOU NEED MOAR ICONS, LOL. Have some Julia to cheer you up too. :D

Yeah, the Mummy movie... not so much with the good. I saw it a month ago or so. WTF yetis?? And not speaking Chinese, I had no idea that Michelle Yeoh's not good at it. What's her native language? I just assumed it was Chinese.

I guess you saw it in previews? When I stopped CARING that it didn't make sense, it was okay, but WTF. There were so many moments when I just went, WHAT?! WHAT WAS THAT?! The yetis, of course, but when the emperor shapeshifted into all kinds of nonsensical creatures... bah.

I didn't even criticise Luke Ford's Chinese, because he has an excuse. Michelle Yeoh's native language ought to be Chinese, really, but I suspect she didn't go to school in Malaysia... or not long enough for that to have made an impact. Her Chinese is awful.

Aha, I found this on Wikipedia:
Yeoh learned English and Malay before Cantonese, and cannot read Chinese characters. As she does not speak Mandarin, she learned the lines for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon phonetically.
It also says she went to school (and uni) in England from the age of 15.

LOL, that explains a lot - and I vaguely remembered that she went to boarding school in England, but couldn't be sure of it. Even so, I know of Asian celebrities who have even less grounding in Chinese than her and don't sound half as bad when they learn their lines phonetically. Perhaps she just has a poor ear for dialogue.

Not that I should be so critical, since my Chinese is pretty darn crappy as well. Ahem.

4. Oh, aside from her terrible Chinese accent, she's pretty good in the movie. Though, again, let me warn you that the movie is NUTS.

Um, Eden and Tracie, um, is it warm in here? Wish I could have seen *that* performance!

Very warm. Oh my with the sexy and the groping. I love when Eden kind of tickled Tracie at the beginning and Tracie was laughing. MAN. I want to see these two onstage SO BAD. Good thing they'll be filmed for that released version of Rent...

yes, and I will be at the first showing of that, even if I have to call in sick to do it!

I was just telling Robin how musical theatre had radically improved my work ethic - in the sense that I don't care about work anymore and would much rather flail instead. My bosses would probably disagree that this is an 'improvement'.

I suspect Gtalk will be our new best friend, *grin* Did you manage to go to Kino today? I waited a bit and figured you might still be sleeping. I bought more books. But I forgot the title of the the witches in boarding school series.

I fell asleep, but would have been able to meet you - except I realised my family dinner was at Clement's and I decided I'd like to go eat some awesome food. ;) Sorry...

Yay for more new books! What'd you get? (How much did it set you back, LOL!) I'll be buying that series tomorrow, anyway, when I hit Kino, so can share. If you like, you can buy next time. :D

Nah... it didn't set me back a lot since Ben had a voucher which he had nothing to spend on. Just about 100 dollars or so. *grin. I bought Book 2 of Dresden files, because they don't have book1, more children's fantasy, including The Alchemyst and "The Name of this Book is Secret".

What's the name of the series anyway? And yesh, I'll prob borrow off you.

Oooh, lots of books!

I keep looking this up and not remembering the author's name. I am fail. Good thing you made me do it again so I can track the books down tomorrow. It's the Gemma Doyle trilogy (informal name) by Libba Bray.
