"they passed me by, all of those great romances"

1. Am currently at the Doha airport, not even past the halfway mark of a SEVEN-HOUR layover between flights back to Singapore. I am sorely sorely missing New York already. Also, I am going to die from heat stroke when I get back. By our last day in NYC, it was about 45F i.e., 7C, and I was walking around in just my Wicked hoodie... clearly I had ( Read more... )

Oh I'm sorry - it's not going to be available on youtube or anywhere, because this is the stage version of Mamma Mia, and Corinne's only the understudy. There's no official cast recording that exists. I have a recording of her performance though; I'll share One Of Us with you when I'm home and have sorted everything out. :D

It was a great trip, aside from the coming home part. I did go and watch Mamma Mia onstage while I was in New York. It was great! Corinne was FANTASTIC as Donna. I wish I could've seen it again, sigh!

Thank you, it was LOTS of fun! I'll remember to share that version of One Of Us with you guys when I've extracted it from the recording I have. That vid of Meryl killed me - I wish a recording of her singing it had made it onto the soundtrack or DVD as a special feature or something.

LOTS OF ICONS TO MAKE. I love the one you're using now! :)

1. Plz to be trading me climates?

2. I maintain that 7 hours is no longer a layover - it counts as a visit. Damn. Also, jealous that you get to say you've spent the most time in an airport in QATAR. Infinitely cooler than DETROIT.

3. Oh god, I do that on every flight that has the tvs in the back of the seats - I tell myself I'm going to read or watch the movie or whatever, and then I do nothing but play MAH-JONG. Wtf.

4. Really needing to see Marvelous Wonderettes so as to understand wtf everyone is talking about. Project for next weekend?

COME BACK. Still sad that we didn't have a chance to say goodbye. :-(

1. You can have it! Especially that last day I left New York - that was amazing and I WANTS IT.

2. I guess I COULD have left the airport and explored Qatar, but... nah. First off, I discovered the interweb. Also, it was after 7 by the time we got in. Everything would have been shut by then!

3. I played epic amounts of Tetris again on the way back. *cries* I am SO FAILY.

4. OMIGOD GO. I'm so obsessed with it right now and want to keep going back but I CAN'T. I think it does rush of some sort now, so GO. I'm OBSESSED.

I WANT TO COME BACK. YES YES YES.

1. Well, at least be happy that a 7 hour layover is one hour too short for your pilots to get wasted legally? There is always some sort of upside, I guess.

3. That'd be tailwinds. /dork fail

4. Ugh, I am so annoyed that Wonderettes won't fit into the schedule I've already paid for. Farah ♥.

1. LOL. Consider me... mildly heartened by that fact. Considerably heartened, actually. :D

3. A+! I figured if anyone could sort me out on that, it'd be you. ;)

4. OMIGOD. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT. I am so SO obsessed with Wonderettes. Jettison something else in favour of this, I'm not kidding. It's SUCH a fantastic cast and such a great show and I'm getting REALLY obsessed with it. BAD FOR ME. BUT OMG SO GOOD. I didn't even get Farah (she was out), but her understudy was amazing, and OMIGOD THE OTHER GIRLS. ASDLKAHSDLHASLDHAL. Victoria Matlock and Bets Malone and my new obsession Beth Malone. GOOOOO. (What's your schedule now, anyway?)

Oh wow, thanks for finding that video of Meryl singing One Of Us. I really wish they'd left that song in the movie, because I've always liked it, and to hear Meryl singing it would have been amazing.

Glad you had such a great holiday :)

You've not seen it before? :D When I saw it, I swear I rewatched it quite a few times, just because I loved hearing her sing it a little bit. It's one of my favourite ABBA songs too - I hadn't realised it was cut until I saw this video, and was reminded again when I saw the stage show.

Holiday was AWESOME. Your icon = LOVE.

No, somehow it managed to slip under the radar, but at least i've seen it now :D

It's weird, the songs they decided to cut from the film. I suppose they HAD to cut to make it a reasonable length, but it would have been nice to have even a shortened version (like with Super Trouper etc). Then I thought maybe it was the more static songs that had been cut, where the characters really just need to sing at or to each other, like Name Of The Game, Knowing Me Knowing You - yeah, i've DEFINITELY watched that film too many times :P
